Doctors, nutritionists and other health professionals, armed with scientific evidence led the city's Health Movement of Loma Linda and fought bravely to prevent the installation of the fast food restaurant, says the doctor.
Repercussion
Economic interest ran high and the small army of bran calzone vegetarian was overcome with the dubious argument that the project was already too advanced for any indentation in programming.
 The battle lasted seven hours and only ended at midnight on 13 December 2011.
The clash had national repercussions. "Many reports are being made about the unfair defeat," laments the doctor who attended the fight until the last moment.

"Newspapers such as the Los Angeles Times and New York Times were interviewing members of the movement from Loma Linda and sympathizing with the cause," says the Brazilian professional who promises to continue promoting health movement Loma Linda among its inhabitants.

Among heavy arsenal of ammunition used by health advocates, an argument provided by site survey: statistics show that within a radius of six miles from a fast food type restaurant the prevalence of childhood obesity increases by 5% or more.
Reactions

Frightened by the huge number of obese children increases every year - 30% of them suffer from this disease today - and projections indicate 2020 as the year in which all Americans are overweight, other cities are beginning to take action.
